Gelsil is a pre-thickened condesation curing, brush-on silicone that is designed to cure at room temperatures.
- It is a very flexible rubber with a hardness of Shore A 25
- It is very strong and does not tear readily
- A blue coloured catalyst is used to make the mixing process easier.
- It has been pre-thickened for ease of use in vertical applications
- It reproduces detail very accurately
- Gelsil has a short demould time
- It has a low shrinkage level in all dimensions
It is widely used for reproducing architectural ornaments on the exterior of the older type of building. This is of great use in heritage sites where deterioration may have occured.
Gelsil is also suitable for reproducing models with pronounced undercuts using resins, wax plaster and Forton as casting materials.
It is also ideal for reproducing larger size originals that cannot be moved which can only be reproduced using a brush-on material such as Gelsil.
